IBA DU question consists of mainly two parts:
- Written test
- Interview
Written test:
In the written test, there are three sections:
Language/ English
There will be 30 marks in English section in IBA DU admission test question. There might be the following types of questions:
- Sentence completion/ Fill in the blanks
- Error identification
- Finding the correct/ appropriate sentence
- Synonym/ antonym
- Comprehension
- Analogy
- Idioms and phrases
- Analogy
The above are the most common types of questions that might appear in the examination.
Mathematics:
There will be 30 marks for 30 questions, 1 mark for each question. For wrong answer, 0.25 will be deducted. Followings are the type of questions that can appear in the exam:
- Area
- Average
- Discount
- Ratio and proportion
- Boats and stream
- Partnership
- Percentage
- Time and work
- Age
- Profit and loss
- Time and distance
- General geometry
- Number
- Height and distance
- Probability
Analytical ability:
Total marks of this section is 15 for 15 questions, 1 mark for each. Three kinds of questions might appear in this section:
- Analytical puzzle
- Critical reasoning
- Data sufficiency
The third section does not appear in every session.
Pass mark
There is a wrong concept regarding the pass mark. It is often said that one should get 60% mark in each section to pass the exam. The proper answer regarding this issue is that 60% is a safe zone. Pass mark can be modified by the examination committee based on the requirement. It can vary between 40% to 60%.
Interview:
Approximately 150% of the final selected candidates are called for interview, of them, 100% will be selected. Therefore, majority of the candidates who pass the written test will get chance for the program. Below are few commonly asked questions in the interview board:
- Tell something about you
- Why you want to pursue an MBA?
- Your academic track does not match with us. How do you explain it?
- What is your career plan?
- What will you do if you can not manage to get in?
The interviewer usually assesses following things:
- English proficiency
- Reasoning
- Confidence
- Appearance
